I think spring might be my favorite time of year for makeup. Winter is too cold & drying & the colors are very dramatic, which can be fun, but not really my every-day kinda thing. Summer is too hot & I generally just want to be bare-faced. Spring is like the perfect-Goldilocks time for me. It’s not too hot, not too cold & I can wear pretty & colorful makeup that still remains fresh & natural.
Here are my favorite spring makeup products right now:
The colors just put a happy spring in my step (see what I did there… ha!)
My favorite lip products for spring have to be Stila’s Lip Glazes in ‘Fig’ & ‘Clementine’. They look really bright in their little packages, but they come out quite sheer & the color is buildable.
Because of my naturally rosy complexion, I tend to shy (run) away from blush. Tarte, however, makes really nice ones that also have good buildable color, so you can make a really natural look with a light sweep of color, or build it up for more oomph. I have the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in ‘Glisten’.
The next three are all eye products. My favorite look right now is to use my Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in ‘Always A Bridesmaid’ all over my lid & then line with Inika Eyeliner in ‘Green Lagoon.’ It’s also really pretty to add a sweep of green shadow to the crease & outer corner of the eyelid. Something about the green & purple pastels reminds me of a meadow. Lastly is my Revlon ColorStay ShadowLinks in ‘Seaform.’ These are $1.79. Amazing. The quality isn’t great, but you get what you pay for & this pale blue comes out as a really nice, sheer sparkle that brightens on its own or can be worn over another color.
I threw in a perfume here because I like to use difference scents at different times of year. My favorite springy scent is Estee Lauder’s Pleasures Eau de Parfum Spray, which was given to me as a Christmas gift. It’s no surprise that I love this since Peonies & Lilies are two of my all time favorite flowers. If you like floral perfumes that are on the lighter/fresher side, I would definitely recommend this one.
